ENZO’S 40TH BIRTHDAY PRESENT TO THE WORLD

The F40 was without question, the most outlandish Ferrari of the late 1980’s. Unveiled on July 21,1987, the F40 was a racer for the street, built to commemorate Ferrari’s 40th anniversary. They employed aerodynamic trickery and exotic components, including Kevlar and reinforced carbon-fiber sitting atop a steel-tube space-frame chassis, Plexiglas windows, and a 3-litre twin-turbo V-8 producing 471hp to startle the automotive world. Performance was mind-boggling - 0 to 60mph in 3 seconds and a claimed top speed of 201mph. Sales continued through 1992 with a total of 1,337 produced.
